-Why should I hire a birth photographer for my birth?
When you reach milestones in your life like your engagement, your wedding day, maternity or family pictures you hire a professional photographer to perfectly capture that day. With your birth, you not only need a great photographer, you also need someone who is comfortable around births and laboring women. I love being with laboring mom’s. Their strength and determination is like nothing I’ve ever seen, the love that the parents have towards each other and their baby is about to multiply, and when they first see their baby it is as if time stands still. Moments like these are so precious and to capture them for a family is an incredible keepsake.

How do you work with the due date?
One thing about births is no one really knows when the baby will come. When you book me for your birth, I will be on call between 38 and 42 weeks.

When/How should I notify you to come to the birth?
When early labor starts you will call me to let me know so I can be fully prepared to leave at a moments notice. When you around 6 cm or want me to head over, you can have someone call or text me during the day or call in the middle of the night and I will leave immediately.

How will you interact with the parents during the labor?
My goal is to be as quiet and as discrete as possible. I understand how important it is to stay focused during labor and I do not want to disturb you.

Will you pose us?
No. I believe in telling your story through pictures, not making your story.

What are your rates?
I offer 4 different packages to help fit your needs.

How do you photograph the actual birth?
For the actual birth, I will shoot from above the waist of the mother if at all possible. I do not photograph from the doctor or midwifes view, unless you specify otherwise.

Do you charge more if my labor is longer?
No. If you have a long labor, I will take breaks, but I am in for the long haul.

Where do you work?
I am located in North County and work in San Diego County, Orange County, and Riverside County.

Do you post all your births online?
No. When I do post birth pictures I will be considerate of the content in the photos I choose and only post pictures that are appropriate. But you can request not to be posted.
